IFWA Announces First 2 stops on the
2022 IFWA Freeride World Championship Tour.

The IFWA, International Freeride Watercraft Association, is proud to announce the 2022 IFWA Freeride World Championship Tour. The IFWA World Tour features the world’s best Freeride Jet Ski athletes battling it out head to head in beautiful surf locations and sharing the freeride spirit around the world.

Freeride Portugal will again host the first stop on the 2022 IFWA World Tour at Praia da Areia Branca Portugal May 6-8. Pilots will be competing in the stunning Atlantic surf for points on the IFWA World Tour and the European Championship. Before the Covid shutdown, the 2019 Freeride Portugal event did not disappoint with pumping surf conditions and the amazing Portuguese hospitality. We are excited for the first stop on this year’s tour.

A new US location, Grayland Washington, will host the 2nd round of the 2022 IFWA Freeride World Championship Tour as the USA stop. The Grayland Open, August 19- 21, will bring a festival type atmosphere to this charming beach community and offer an ideal location to showcase these athletes’ skills. The Grayland Open began as a grass roots event in 2009 and featured both up and coming riders and well seasoned pros. This year, the IFWA will be working with long time event promoter and creator of the Grayland Open, Dan Lindgen, to bring this world-class event to the next level. Competitors will be vying for not only the IFWA US Title but also points and title for the IFWA Freeride World Championship. Titles and awards will also be given for US Amateur and US Rookie Championship.

The IFWA is working with our partners to organize a 3rd stop for the 2023 IFWA Freeride World Tour. More details to be announced soon.
